Between visits

Notice what has changed

Healing rarely moves in a straight line. Progress often shows up in how your discomfort feels, how long it lasts and what sets it off, well before the number on a pain scale drops.

What to expect

Most conditions take up to 4 visits to feel a noticeable change. Many people feel a difference along the way, often after the second visit.

If you have sudden severe pain, chest pain, trouble breathing, loss of bladder or bowel control, or new weakness in an arm or leg, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

After your last visit

Think about the day or two after your last treatment.

Did you notice a change?

How does it feel?

Pick the words that fit when you started care, then the words that fit now. A change from sharp, shooting, burning or electric toward dull, achy or sore often means things are calming down, even if it is still strong.

How strong is it at its worst?

Use 0 for no pain and 10 for the worst you can imagine. Strength often drops later than the other changes, so do not worry if this one has not moved yet.
