Clinical Approach

Specialist-Level Pelvic Floor Care

Pelvic floor dysfunction is frequently undertreated because it requires a provider trained in both intrapelvic anatomy and neuromuscular needling technique. Dr. Gordon's ASE certification covers both intrapelvic dry needling, which reaches the deep pelvic floor muscles through the skin of the buttock, perineum or inner thigh (never through the vagina or rectum), and extrapelvic dry needling of the surrounding hip, gluteal and abdominal muscles. Together they allow treatment of the full pelvic floor musculature.

Most patients referred for pelvic floor care have already completed standard physical therapy without adequate relief. Dr. Gordon evaluates the neuromuscular drivers of pelvic pain and applies targeted needling to hypertonic, trigger-point-laden pelvic floor muscles that are not accessible through surface-level treatment.
